NDDC honors late OMPADEC Chairman Albert Horsfall

Overview

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has initiated a series of tributes to honor the late Chief Albert Horsfall, the pioneer Chairman of the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC).

Following an initial condolence visit to Horsfall’s residence in Lagos by NDDC Governing Board Chairman Chiedu Ebie and Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the commission held a formal ceremony at its headquarters in Port Harcourt. During the ceremony, Ebie described Horsfall as a “patriotic figure who promoted Nigerian unity” and noted that he had been cleared of corruption charges by five separate investigative panels.

To commemorate his legacy, the NDDC has ordered flags to be flown at half-mast at its headquarters, nine state offices, and the Abuja liaison office. Furthermore, the commission has announced that the ancillary building at the NDDC headquarters will be named in his honor.
