NEC Nijmegen match results

Overview

NEC Nijmegen has recorded two consecutive 1-1 draws in competitive play. The first occurred in the Eredivisie against Ajax, where Tjaron Chery equalized via a penalty after Tolu Arokodare gave Ajax an early lead.

In their subsequent Europa League group stage match against Levski Sofia, NEC Nijmegen also secured a 1-1 draw. Reynaldo scored for the Bulgarian champions in the 32nd minute following a quick counter-attack, but an error by goalkeeper Svetoslav Vutsov allowed Tjaron Chery to equalize in the 44th minute. NEC manager Dick Schrijder described the result as fair, noting that Levski showed “strong tactical organization and moments of quality.”

Following the match, NEC Nijmegen issued an official statement regarding the presence of Levski supporters in the home sections of the Goffertstadion. The club explained that they provided 200 first-category tickets to the visiting team as required by UEFA regulations, which are typically intended for club partners and guests. NEC expressed surprise that Levski Sofia distributed or sold these specific tickets to their supporters instead.
