Nelly Furtado career and Loose anniversary

Overview

Singer Nelly Furtado has announced a 20th-anniversary edition of her album ‘Loose’, scheduled for release on September 4. The expanded digital version will include 28 songs, featuring ten extra recordings such as three unreleased tracks from the original sessions, two recordings from 2024, four new versions of existing songs, and a “secret demo”. A limited edition of 300 red and white vinyl copies will also include a signed lithograph.

In discussions regarding her career, Furtado has reflected on the impact of her global success and the personal challenges faced during her peak commercial period. She noted that the stress of balancing motherhood with her career led to a nervous breakdown during the ‘Loose’ tour. Following this period, she transitioned toward exploring her musical roots with the album ‘Mi Plan’ before entering a hiatus from the industry.
