Netflix French series adaptations

Overview

Netflix has announced plans to adapt various French cinematic works into new series.

One upcoming project is the six-episode thriller ‘Les Brumes’, based on Olivier Norek’s novel ‘Dans les brumes de Capelans’. Directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, the series is set in the Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon archipelago and is expected to arrive in 2027.

Additionally, Netflix is developing a six-episode adaptation of the 1988 film ‘La vie est un long fleuve tranquille’. Directed by Clovis Cornillac, this series will expand upon the original satirical story of two families who discover their children were swapped at birth, focusing on a legal mandate for a four-month shared custody trial period.
