Netflix Oktoberfest film production

Overview

Netflix is producing a romantic comedy set during the Munich Oktoberfest. The production, managed by Wiedemann & Berg, initially sought up to 4,000 extras of various ages and backgrounds to capture the festival atmosphere, including roles for tent staff, musicians, and attendees.

Director Simon Verhoeven is attached to the project, which follows a young waitress during her first experience working at the festival. Filming is scheduled to take place on the Theresienwiese and in Upper Bavaria, with a festival tent being reconstructed at Studio Penzing to support the production. The film is expected to feature an international cast.
