New disability support facilities in Czech Republic
Overview
New residential and support facilities for individuals with disabilities have opened in the Czech Republic.
In Prachatice, the Kolečko facility was launched to provide transitional housing for people with paraplegia. The center is designed to help clients practice daily life skills, such as cooking and navigating urban environments, over approximately three-month stays to facilitate a return to independent living. The barrier-free site includes twelve residential units, a gym, and a public bistro.
In Nové Vrátě, České Budějovice, Centrum BAZALKA opened a low-energy residential complex for 18 clients with autism spectrum disorders or severe combined disabilities. Supported by an 8 million CZK contribution from the South Bohemian Region, the facility provides year-round care for individuals aged 10 to 50 through four separate households equipped with physiotherapy spaces and professional kitchens.
