New Indiana Jones attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Overview

During the D23 fan event, Harrison Ford announced a new Indiana Jones project titled ‘Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent’. Rather than a film or streaming series, the project will be a major new attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom within the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Ford will serve as the physical and digital model for the attraction’s Audio-Animatronics figure, marking the first time his likeness will be used for a Disney theme park attraction. The figure is expected to include his voice and his character’s signature fear of snakes.

Located in the new ‘Tropical Americas’ land scheduled to open in 2027, the ride will feature an original storyline involving ancient Maya culture. Guests will explore a temple ruin above a cenote and encounter a serpentine creature known as the Tsukán, facing perils such as giant scorpions, bats, and fire as they are transported into a mythical underworld.
