Overview

New York City has released its inaugural government-wide racial equity plan, a 400-page document mandated by a court ruling following delays in its production. Chief Equity Officer Afua Atta-Mensah noted that the report marks the beginning of a multi-year implementation process. Progress on these targets will be reported every two years through 2034, and the plan is expected to influence the mid-fiscal year “November Plan” regarding how agencies disburse funds to address racial disparities.
