The New York Giants have officially signed veteran running back Najee Harris to a one-year deal. The 28-year-old former first-round pick and Pro Bowler is attempting a comeback after suffering a season-ending Achilles tendon injury while playing for the Los Angeles Chargers. Following a recent workout, Giants head coach John Harbaugh noted that while Harris is a “decorated vet,” he is not yet at 100 percent or in full football shape, indicating his integration into the offense will be a gradual process. Harris previously recorded over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first four NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The signing bolsters a backfield that includes Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Devin Singletary, following the team waiving running back Dante ‘Turbo’ Miller with an injury designation. To accommodate Harris on the roster, the Giants have released veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has dealt with ongoing knee issues. Additionally, the team has signed quarterback Jake Haener to provide depth behind starter Jaxson Dart.
