Nippon Television has announced the upcoming Sunday drama ‘Hide & Seek: 0-Byo no Kanojo’, a mystery-romance series based on the novel by Masahiro Imamura. Initial announcements identified the lead cast, including Sota Fukushi as Yuichi Tsukura, a freelance journalist investigating the death of his lover, Sana (played by Ayara Shida). Juri Tanaka was also cast as Makoto Hyodo, the leader of a political organization called ‘Live Commons’. Subsequent updates revealed that the series is scheduled to premiere on October 4. New promotional visuals were released, detailing a plot where the protagonist becomes a fugitive following a bombing and pursues a conspiracy after receiving a mysterious phone call from his supposedly deceased lover. Production has officially commenced, with Sota Fukushi, Ayara Shida, and Juri Tanaka beginning filming. To portray his character’s status as a fugitive, Fukushi began filming with a three-day beard. Shida’s scenes started with a romantic date sequence, while Tanaka began filming at a hideout location. Despite high temperatures during outdoor filming in summer clothing, the production team reported a positive atmosphere on set. Regarding the musical production, the band Marcy will perform the series' theme song, titled ‘Hikari’ (Light). Written and composed by vocalist and guitarist Ukyo Yoshida, the track is described as a classic love ballad written from the perspective of the protagonist, Yuichi Tsukura. The song aims to express his determination to protect Sana while he is being pursued by the state following a bombing incident.
