NMIXX sixth mini album release

In September 2026, JYP Entertainment announced that the K-pop group NMIXX would release their sixth mini album, ‘Strange Muse’, on October 19. The announcement noted the inclusion of three subunit duet songs featuring various member combinations.

Upon the album’s release on October 19, details emerged regarding the musical direction of the lead single, ‘Birthday Wish’, which incorporates Moombahton, Afro, and Future House genres. The lyrics of the track describe an emotional journey of healing from heartbreak and finding hope through a new connection, described as a form of rebirth. The album’s concept is centered on ‘Mixxtopia’, a theme where diverse individuals act as each other’s ‘muses’.

This release marks the group's first comeback in approximately five months following ‘Heavy Serenade’. The album introduces the group's first unit tracks: a ballad pop song by Lily and Haewon titled ‘You Are the Moon’, a Latin-groove track by Sullyoon and Bae titled ‘Hot and Unabothered’, and a fast-paced rap/pop track by Jiwoo and Kyujin titled ‘Hwik’. Members contributed to the creative process, with Kyujin participating in songwriting and composition, and Bae contributing lyrics to her unit song and ‘Rude Talk’.
