Non-citizen illegal voting prosecutions in the US

Overview

Federal authorities have taken legal action against non-citizens for allegedly participating in U.S. elections. In Massachusetts, a Nigerian national was arrested for allegedly submitting false voter registration forms and casting ballots in both the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 presidential primary.

In separate cases, two other non-citizens pleaded guilty to unlawful voting in the 2024 General Election. A Haitian national in Florida admitted to making false claims of U.S. citizenship on registration forms, while a Filipino national in Hawaii admitted to casting a mail-in ballot despite knowing she was not a citizen.
