The Danish discount retailer Normal is continuing its international expansion through new store openings in Europe. In France, the company has reached a milestone with its tenth outlet in Marseille, located in the Bonneveine shopping centre. Further expansion in France includes a new 400 m² store scheduled to open in Caen on 12 August 2026. The retailer is also strengthening its presence in the Czech Republic. Following the mid-August openings of its first two locations in Prague at the Flora and Galerie Butovice shopping centers, a third location is set to open in the Letňany Shopping Center on 9 September 2026, occupying over 400 square meters. Expansion into the Romanian market is set for late September and early October. The first location, a 275 m² store at Mega Mall București, is scheduled to open on 30 September, followed by a 380 m² store at Shopping City Timișoara on 2 October. Each Romanian location is expected to employ approximately 18 people. CEO Jakob Frølich Maarbjerg stated that Romania was selected due to its “high potential and consumer openness to distinctive shopping formats.” The stores will stock international brands such as L’Oréal, Maybelline, Nivea, and Colgate, alongside K-Beauty and J-Beauty products. In Italy, the chain is also growing its presence. Following openings in Milan, Venice, and Udine, a new location has been inaugurated at the Centro Campania shopping mall in Marcianise. Marcianise, featuring over 4,000 items for personal care, cosmetics, and home goods. A fourth Italian store is also opening in Rome at the Gran Roma shopping center. The retailer, which operates over 1,000 stores across 14 European countries, maintains a business model focused on low fixed prices and the introduction of at least 100 new products weekly.
