North Macedonia digital transformation initiatives

Overview

North Macedonia’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, has been promoting the country’s technological growth and digital integration efforts.

At the BELTALKS 2026 forum in Belgrade, Andonovski highlighted opportunities for high-tech and artificial intelligence investments, noting that ICT industry investments contributed to GDP growth of 3.7 percent in the first half of 2026. He emphasized the goal of attracting capital to develop data centers and technological firms to position the Western Balkans as an innovation hub.

Following these regional discussions, Andonovski focused on domestic implementation during a visit to Delchevo. There, he discussed integrating municipalities into interoperability platforms and Document Management Systems to increase transparency and reduce paperwork. The visit also included the inauguration of a new Tourist-Information Center supported by Ministry equipment and the announcement of a ‘Service Caravan’ to bring electronic services to rural areas.
