NTT Docomo point program and d払い expansion
Overview
In late July 2026, NTT Docomo began extending its dポイント loyalty scheme beyond existing partnerships. On July 27, the company announced that starting July 30, dポイント would be integrated into Konami Digital Entertainment’s eFootball Points website. This allows users to link a KONAMI ID with a d-account to earn one point for every ¥200 spent on in-game items across three mobile soccer titles: eFootball, eFootball ウイコレ CHAMPION SQUADS, and J-League Club Championship. Points can be redeemed at a ¥1-per-point rate in the Konami Games Store, at dポイント merchants, via d払い, or toward Docomo phone bills and devices.
Following this, Docomo rolled out nationwide point-rebate campaigns via its d払い service, covering eleven Japanese cities and towns starting in August 2026. Participants could receive rebates ranging from 1% to 100%, capped at 30,000 points per use. Simultaneously, PayPay launched municipal cashless-payment promotions offering rebates up to 30% across dozens of prefectures, such as 20% in Iwate and 30% in Ōita.
In August, Docomo announced further local government collaborations for September 2026. In Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, users paying with ‘d払い’ will receive 20% back at local shops and 5% at large-scale stores, capped at 1,000 points per transaction. In Makurazaki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, a campaign running through September will offer a 20% point return, with a cap of 6,000 points per transaction and 12,000 points per person.
