NVIDIA local AI hardware and ecosystem expansion

Overview

NVIDIA has announced the expansion of its local AI hardware capabilities, specifically through the introduction of the DGX Station for Windows. Unveiled at GTC Taipei, this deskside AI supercomputer utilizes GB300 Grace Blackwell-class infrastructure and is intended for enterprise developers and researchers to run trillion-parameter models locally. The hardware is expected to be available in late 2026. Further developments in the ecosystem include the release of RTX Spark, which offers up to 128GB of unified memory and 1 petaflop of AI compute for personal agents and content creation on Windows PCs. To support the security and governance of autonomous agentic workflows, NVIDIA is collaborating with Cisco. This partnership utilizes NVIDIA Open Shell as a secure runtime alongside Cisco Cloud Control to provide observability and policy enforcement across local workstations and enterprise AI factories. Additionally, NVIDIA has introduced the Underdog desktop agent app for private, local AI and announced support for several new models, including DeepSeek, Qwen, and FLUX. At GTC Berlin, CEO Jensen Huang introduced a strategic shift toward “AI Factories” and localized intelligence, headlined by the DSX POD. This modular, containerized data center design, based on the Vera Rubin platform, utilizes pre-assembled computing, networking, and liquid cooling to reduce deployment times from six months to approximately 14 days. The DSX POD, which contains seven Vera Rubin NVL72 racks and is designed to be transportable via truck in a structure similar to a standard shipping container, is slated for a worldwide release in early 2027 via partners such as Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Foxconn, Gigabyte, Quanta, and Pegatron. The DSX Pod system weighs approximately 28,000 kg and includes the Minerva operating software for monitoring data center health.
