O2 service and tariff updates

O2, a brand owned by Telefónica, has announced updates to its service offerings in Spain. The company introduced a new mobile plan priced at 5 euros per month, providing 15 GB of data along with unlimited calls and SMS. This new tier is intended to be a more economical option than the previous 7 euro tier, and customers on an older 4 GB plan will be automatically transitioned to the new 15 GB option.

In addition to mobile updates, O2 has expanded access to Movistar Plus. Customers with fiber-only or combined fiber and mobile plans can now subscribe to the Movistar Plus OTT service for 6 euros per month, down from the standard 9.99 euro price. This subscription includes the ‘Plan Libre Cine, Series y Deportes’, which features sports, 80 channels, and various film and documentary content. The service includes access to LaLiga EA Sports, LaLiga Hypermotion, and select Champions League and Premier League matches.

The company has also expanded its device program. Customers with monthly tariffs starting at 40 euros can now access a selection of handsets for 0 euros. This program includes free delivery, no minimum contract period, and a four-year warranty. The Samsung Galaxy A17 is noted as the first 5G device available under this 0 euro monthly condition. O2 Director Mariano Domecq stated that these developments aim to reinforce the company’s commitment to being a ‘gateway to digital technologies’.
