The government of Oaxaca, under Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, has implemented social welfare distributions targeting women heads of household through various programs. In the Istmo de Tehuantepec region, the Tarjeta Margarita Maza program distributed 4,878,000 pesos to 813 women. Secretary of Welfare, Tequio, and Inclusion Vilma Martínez Cortés noted that 250 million pesos have been allocated to this program statewide for 2026 to support household economies.
