By late 2026, Chery Group and its OMODA & JAECOO division maintained aggressive global expansion. Following a period of rapid sales growth, the company has transitioned to a multibrand strategy in key markets. In Italy, the local subsidiary has become Chery Italy S.r.l., supporting five brands: Omoda, Jaecoo, Chery, Lepas, and the upcoming iCaur. The Lepas brand has also launched operations in Romania through a partnership with the Materom group. In South America, Chery is strengthening its presence in Argentina with electrified models and the HIMLA pickup, while OMODA & JAECOO has announced a major 2027 offensive in Brazil featuring seven new launches, including the OMODA 4 and the Jaecoo 5 hybrid SUV. Chery executives indicated that the Brazilian market can accommodate multiple Chinese brands, noting that iCAUR and Lepas will complement existing lines. The iCAUR brand is expected to debut in Brazil between March and April, led by the V27 model. Technological innovation remains a central pillar. During the Chery International User Summit 2026 in Wuhu, China, the brand introduced its ‘Crossvolution’ strategy with the global debut of the Omoda X concept. This ‘Cross Off-Road Vehicle’ (COV) utilizes a ‘Cyber Mecha’ design language and features ~~advanced technology such as~~ an infrared thermal imaging night vision system capable of detecting objects up to 90 meters away, a natural language voice assistant, and the Super Intelligent AI Space (SIAS). Recent demonstrations include the SIVP parking system for remote summoning and autonomous parking, alongside the OMODA 7 SHS-H, which features 5-kWh hybrid technology, a ‘Super Quiet Mode’, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functions. The OMODA 7 SHS-H is scheduled for a UAE launch in early 2027. Global sales momentum continues. In Spain, Omoda and Jaecoo reached a milestone of 60,000 units sold in less than three years, with electrified vehicles accounting for over 60% of that volume. In the Middle East and South Asia, the UAE surpassed 6,000 cumulative deliveries, while the Nishat Group in Pakistan exceeded 15,000 locally assembled units. Additionally, during the ‘Super Hybrid Marathon’ in Wuhu, OMODA & JAECOO demonstrated the efficiency of its Super Hybrid System (SHS-H), with the OMODA 5 NEXT SHS-H achieving a range of 1,015 kilometers.
