Oppo and OpenAI mobile product launches

In early July 2026, Oppo introduced its Reno16 smartphone series along with a new magnetic accessory called the Bubble in Malaysia. The accessory was designed to attach to the back of the phone and provide a small AMOLED display that mirrors the rear camera view, enabling remote framing, zoom control and custom visual personalization.

Later in July, Oppo provided a fuller description of the Bubble’s capabilities, emphasizing its ten‑metre remote operation and the ability to turn the phone’s rear surface into a configurable visual element. At the same time, OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT Work for smartphones, extending its AI‑driven productivity suite to Android and iOS devices. The mobile version integrates with email, calendar and cloud‑document applications, allowing users to define multi‑step tasks, verify outputs and manage projects directly from their phones while still supporting more complex work on desktops.
