Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are deepening integration across economic, linguistic, and technological sectors. The combined GDP of member and observer states has reached $2.11 trillion, representing approximately 2% of the global economy, while total trade volume has grown significantly, reaching nearly $200 billion. Economic cooperation is increasingly focused on the Middle Corridor, a strategic transport and economic backbone. Recent data shows rising logistical activity, including a 34% increase in dry cargo transportation via the Caspian Sea. To support this, the organization is working to harmonize customs systems and infrastructure. Linguistic and administrative integration are also priorities. Discussions have resurfaced regarding a common Turkic communication language, while officials are exploring travel ease through identity card-only transit between member states. Additionally, a new agreement will grant football players from member states domestic status in their respective leagues to foster a unified sports ecosystem. Technological and political cooperation continues to expand. Following a Space Industry Framework Agreement between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, the organization is formalizing joint satellite and scientific research. Politically, leaders like Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have advocated for the OTS to become a significant global power center. As part of the ‘Turkic World-2040 Vision’, Turkey is scheduled to host the 13th OTS Summit in Ankara on October 29-30. Under the theme ‘Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought, and Work’, the event will feature a Council of Foreign Ministers meeting on October 29, followed by a leaders' summit on October 30. During this summit, Turkey is expected to assume the OTS chairmanship from Azerbaijan. Discussions will focus on strategic cooperation in trade, investment, energy, digital transformation, transportation, agriculture, and space technologies. New initiatives under consideration include a common e-commerce platform, joint airport counters to facilitate travel, and the establishment of a Women and Family Council.
