Orquesta de Cámara de Chile educational programs

Overview

The Orquesta de Cámara de Chile (OCCh) conducted a series of educational concerts at the Teatro California in Ñuñoa from September 23 to 25. The initiative provided live classical music experiences to more than 2,500 students representing 22 different communes within the Metropolitan Region.

Supported by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage and the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Education, the program aimed for cultural decentralization by including delegations from rural areas such as Colina, Talagante, and El Monte. Under the direction of Juan Pablo Aguayo, the performances utilized a pedagogical approach that incorporated traditional Chilean ‘décimas’ poetry to engage the young audience.
