Orquesta del barrio INTA performances in Buenos Aires

Overview

The Orquesta Infanto Juvenil del barrio INTA, an ensemble from Trelew, performed a series of historic concerts in Buenos Aires to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Supported by the Government of Chubut, the Municipality of Trelew, and the Fundación Banco del Chubut, the group of over 60 young musicians performed at the Teatro Colón. The event was broadcast live to more than 500 residents at the Gimnasio Municipal N° 1 in Trelew. Following the Teatro Colón performance, the orchestra also presented at the Obelisco as part of the Spring 2026 Tourist Season launch.

Director Mariana Navarro highlighted that the intensive preparation allowed many musicians to visit Buenos Aires for the first time. She emphasized the importance of the orchestra maintaining its local roots and noted the need for a dedicated space in their home neighborhood to continue providing musical opportunities for local youth.
