Pakistan medical training regulations for Palestinian-Gaza

Overview

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) issued a ruling regarding Palestinian medical and dental students from Gaza. On humanitarian grounds, these students are permitted to undertake clinical training in Pakistan, but they are prohibited from accessing house jobs, postgraduate training, registration, or licensing.

The PMDC stated that this arrangement is not a permanent policy and does not create permanent entitlements. The council noted that there is currently no legal pathway for foreign graduates to sit the National Registration Examination (NRE). Furthermore, medical and dental institutions have been warned that providing degrees, medical qualifications, or extending training beyond the permitted clinical framework would violate the law.
