Paracatu Cultural Economy Seminar

Overview

The city of Paracatu is hosting the III Paracatu Cultural Economy Seminar, an initiative involving the UNESCO Chair on Planetary Well-being and Regenerative Anticipation through a partnership between the Museu do Amanhã and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

The seminar began in late August with a Futures Literacy Laboratory. According to researcher Anna Carolina Fornero Aguiar, the laboratory was designed to foster collective intelligence and help participants imagine various potential futures to understand how current values and assumptions influence present decision-making.

In September, the seminar progressed to its third stage, titled ‘Olhares para o Futuro’. This phase included a bootcamp supported by Sebrae to convert ideas into business projects, followed by the ‘Encontro de Diálogos’. This subsequent event brought specialists and community members together to discuss regional development, the role of culture, climate change, and shifts in the labor market.
