Student-athletes from various Brazilian regions are traveling to Brasília to compete in the 2026 Brazilian School Games (JEBs). A delegation of 252 athletes from Mato Grosso do Sul is participating in 10 different sporting modalities, including volleyball, karate, swimming, and wrestling. The competition, held between September 13 and 26, involves over 5,000 students from across the country. Similarly, a group of 36 students from the Palmas municipal school system is heading to the event to compete in athletics, judo, and basketball. These athletes qualified for the national stage following their performance in the Tocantins Student Games held in August. As the competition progresses, Paraíba has achieved a total of 15 medals. Notable successes for the Paraíba delegation include gold medals in judo by Maria Moura and in karate by Pâmela Medeiros, as well as silver medals in rhythmic gymnastics and judo, and bronze medals in chess, karate, and judo. From Minas Gerais, athlete Marcela Vitória secured a silver medal in the Bronze Series of Judo. Following this achievement, she is scheduled to compete in the Pan-American games in Mexico this November.
