PAS youth political mobilization in Malaysia

Overview

The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) Youth Wing has intensified its political positioning ahead of the 16th General Election. During its 67th assembly in Kota Bharu, the wing passed a motion to contest all current Parliamentary and State Assembly seats, a move intended to maintain voter trust regardless of future coalition negotiations.

In addition to seat contestation, the assembly called for a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate allegations of a ‘corporate mafia’ involving government-linked companies. Other approved motions focused on strengthening Malay-Islam political representation and implementing stricter e-commerce regulations.

Following these policy decisions, PAS youth members mobilized in Kelantan with a convoy of over 1,000 participants. Kelantan PAS Youth Chief Mohd Firdaus Mohamed Nawi described the turnout as a signal of political strength and a warning to the Pakatan Harapan coalition, asserting that youth mobilization will be a decisive factor in the upcoming election.
