Passenger misconduct interventions in Poland

Overview

Security interventions by the Polish Border Guard have been reported following passenger misconduct on international flights arriving in Poland.

In late August, a passenger arriving from Egypt in Gdańsk was fined 500 PLN for smoking in an aircraft toilet. This incident occurred amidst a reported trend of security violations at Gdańsk Airport, with the Maritime Border Guard noting 54 interventions involving 58 individuals since the start of 2026.

In late September, a separate incident occurred on a LOT Polish Airlines flight from Chisinau to Warsaw. An Israeli citizen reportedly ignored crew instructions, refused to fasten a seatbelt, and harassed other passengers. Upon landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, the Special Intervention Group boarded the aircraft. The passenger was issued a 500 PLN fine and was permitted to continue his journey after complying with officers.
