PennDOT roadwork and maintenance projects continue across Pennsylvania through late August and early September 2026. In the Philadelphia region, the $150 million Market Street Bridge reconstruction project involves a 14-month vehicular closure expected to last through October 2027. This phase requires SEPTA to detour six bus routes (31, 44, 49, 124, 125, and L1 Owl), routes, though pedestrian and bicycle access remains. Relatedly, overnight closures on Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) are scheduled from August 31 through September 4, with westbound closures on Monday and Tuesday nights and eastbound closures on Wednesday and Thursday nights. In Delaware County, daytime closures for base repairs on Newtown Street Road and College Avenue in Newtown and Haverford townships are scheduled from August 24 through August 28. Major highway disruptions also include a seven-day eastbound Interstate 80 lane closure in Jefferson County starting August 17 for paving as part of the I-80 North Fork Bridges Project. In the West Conshohocken Montgomery and Lower Merion areas, Delaware counties, a $63.7 million I-476 resurfacing project includes overnight weeknight lane closures continuing through October for bridge repairs, guiderail installation, and pavement improvements. This project also includes two nights of ramp closures between from I-76 to northbound I-476 between September 18 and I-76 on the weekend September 20. New disruptions include a 33-day full closure of August the Route 65 bridge over Connoquenessing Creek in Beaver County, beginning September 21 and 22, with weeknight lane closures continuing through early September. New maintenance is scheduled lasting until October 24. Swank Construction Company will use accelerated bridge construction techniques to install a new precast modular concrete structure. Maintenance in Mifflin and Juniata counties for the week of August 31 in Mifflin and Juniata counties. Mifflin County projects include includes bridge maintenance and cleaning on Route 22 and Route 322, alongside shoulder maintenance on Route 103 and Route 22. In Juniata County, 22, and bridge maintenance is planned for on Route 2010. Previous projects included daytime closures on Newtown Street Road and College Avenue in Delaware County, and eastbound Interstate 80 lane closures in Jefferson County.
