Atlus is developing a remake of the 2008 RPG Persona 4, titled Persona 4 Revival, targeting an 18 February 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. The project features upgraded graphics, a modernized UI, and MAPPA-animated cutscenes. Combat mechanics have been significantly overhauled to include a “Prime Time” gauge for zero-cost skills, “Send Flying” status-spreading, a “Guard” system for blocking and countering, and “Baton Touch” for turn passing. While these updates aim for a “stress-free” experience, some commentators have expressed concern that such features might reduce strategic depth. Social simulation elements are also expanded through a new Human Parameters system and a deepened Community (formerly Social Links) system. Recent trailers have confirmed that Social Link events and cutscenes will be fully voiced in both English and Japanese. The English voice cast includes Nazeeh Tarsha (Yu), Paul Castro Jr. (Yosuke), Anne Yatco (Chie), Brianna Knickerbocker (Yukiko), Ari Thrash (Marie), and Abby Trott as Rise Kujikawa. Notably, producer Kazuhisa Wada announced that Yosuke’s dialogue will be revised to be less “insensitive” to better suit contemporary sensibilities. Musical updates include new compositions by Ryota Kozuka and remixes of classic tracks featuring vocalists Shihoko Hirata and Shiori Sasaki. Marketing efforts include free YouTube streams As part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, SEGA and Atlus announced that Persona 4 anime adaptations and character-focused trailers. During Revival will have playable demos at PAX West 2026. This event will serve as the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Atlus also teased a brief teaser for “Persona 6,” which has already received an M rating first public hands-on opportunity in Australia. SEGA projects worldwide sales of at least five million copies. In North America and will feature a recent interview, producer developer panel and an autograph session. Producer Kazuhisa Wada expressed has reiterated his personal interest in support for remaking the series' origins, stating, “At this point, I can't say for sure, but personally, I think it's something we should definitely do. I think we have to do it,” regarding specifically Persona 1 and Persona 2. 2, though no official plans are currently confirmed.
