Peruvian football club management and transfers

Overview

Leadership and structural changes are occurring across several Peruvian football clubs. Universidad César Vallejo announced the departure of head coach José Guillermo ‘Chemo’ del Solar following a failed attempt to return to the top flight during the 2026 Liga 2 campaign.

Sport Boys is currently evaluating the potential sale of its spot in Liga 3, with management focusing on its youth academy and preparations for its 2027 centennial.

Meanwhile, Universitario de Deportes has been involved in discussions regarding the potential return of Ecuadorian midfielder José Carabalí. Although Carabalí remains under contract with LDU de Quito until 2029, administrator Franco Velazco has reportedly established contact with the player and his representatives to discuss a move to the Peruvian club.
