Pet culture festivals in South Korea

Overview

South Korean cities are organizing festivals to promote mature pet culture and support the local pet industry.

Daejeon City announced the ‘Animal Love Festival’ to be held at Boramae Park on October 25. Organized with veterinary associations and academic institutions, the event features a ‘Dog Health (犬康) Project’ including lectures by animal behavior expert Seol Chae-hyeon, pet fashion runways, and free professional medical services such as dermatology and ultrasound diagnostics.

In Cheonan, the 4th annual ‘2026 K-DOG FESTIVAL’ is scheduled for October 31 and November 1 at the Cheonan Citizens' Sports Park. Under the slogan ‘2026 K-DOG CONNECT’, the festival includes dog sports like agility and flyball, an AI-driven pet behavior counseling center, and a pet fair. The event also features a talk concert by veterinarian Seol Chae-hyun and various experiential programs for children and pet owners.
