Philadelphia Flyers early season winning streak

Overview

The Philadelphia Flyers began their 2026-27 NHL season by securing consecutive victories following an initial nine-game losing streak.

On October 17, the Flyers defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-1. Key contributions came from Matvei Michkov and Porter Martone, while goaltender Dan Vladař made 25 saves. The game also saw Ottawa captain Thomas Chabot leave with an undisclosed injury.

Following that win, the Flyers defeated the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on October 19. Matvei Michkov led the scoring with two goals, including a first-period power-play goal and a second-period strike. Noel Acciari provided the third goal to restore a two-goal lead in the third period. Goaltender Joseph Woll earned his first victory with the team, making 24 saves. The win occurred amidst an injury crisis that necessitated call-ups from the Phantoms, including the NHL debut of Cole Knuble.
