The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported record-breaking revenue collection of ₱664.776 billion for the first eight months of 2026. This total exceeded the agency’s target of ₱659.309 billion by ₱5.467 billion and marked a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2025. In August 2026, the BOC collected ₱81.361 billion, a 5.1% increase over August 2025. Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno noted that these results were achieved despite significant weather disturbances that caused work suspensions and disrupted trade operations across several ports and collection districts for nearly two weeks. By the end of September 2026, the BOC reported a total collection of ₱757.406 billion for the first nine months of the year. This figure surpassed the agency's target for the January-to-September period by ₱8.913 billion, representing a 7.9% increase over the same period in 2025. September alone saw collections of ₱93.339 billion, which exceeded the monthly target by 4.7% and was 16.3% higher than September 2025. Commissioner Nepomuceno attributed the continued growth to modernized customs processes, intensified enforcement against smuggling, and improved valuation and assessment. The agency is currently working toward a full-year revenue goal of ₱1 trillion.
