In late July 2026 2026, the Philippine Department of Energy announced a sharp increase in fuel prices – diesel up about P10.68 per litre, kerosene P11.77 and gasoline P3.65 – to take effect on 21 July. Retail fuel sellers also announced another oil‑price oil-price increase for diesel and gasoline, underscoring the ongoing pressure from volatile global oil markets on both road and air transport in the Philippines. By mid-August, further price increases were anticipated to begin on 18 August 2026, following a brief period of rollbacks. Industry estimates projected diesel increases of P3.75 to P4.25 per litre and gasoline increases of P2.50 to P3.00 per litre. These expected hikes were driven by global supply concerns, including refinery disruptions, declining fuel inventories, and reduced exports from major suppliers. While tensions in oil-producing regions continue to tighten the market, analysts noted that rising crude inventories in the United States and slower global demand growth might limit the scale of the increases.
