Authorities in Phu Tho Province have initiated criminal proceedings against six individuals for “causing “disturbing public disorder” order” following a disruptive livestreaming incident at Lac Viet Friendship Hospital. The incident involved group, comprising the biological parents, parents-in-law, aunt, and uncle of a young woman. The group 27-year-old woman, allegedly used social media to broadcast live, shout, and spread unverified information regarding a patient’s medical condition. Reports indicate the information. The conflict arose after originated from the woman, who underwent a procedure due to a fetal abnormality diagnosis, woman’s false claims; she misled her family about her pregnancy. The by stating that Lac Viet Friendship Hospital had diagnosed a fetal abnormality requiring termination, when in fact, a different facility had confirmed she was not pregnant. Believing these claims, the family subsequently confronted hospital staff, accusing the facility of negligence and data tampering. The livestreams garnered causing significant online engagement, with one broadcast attracting approximately operational disruptions. The Facebook livestream attracted between 17,000 and 20,000 views. Major General Nguyen Minh Tuấn, Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Police, characterized the case as “highly unusual,” noting that multiple sets of extended relatives were prosecuted due to a single unverified broadcast. Police are currently reviewing electronic evidence from roughly approximately 700 social media accounts to investigate individuals who shared or commented negatively on the incident to determine their level of violation.
