Pimax high-end gaming hardware announcements
Overview
Pimax has announced new hardware products targeting high-end gaming and virtual reality. The company unveiled the Crystal Pro, a PC virtual reality headset featuring Native Foveated Streaming technology. This system uses eye-tracking and a 60GHz wireless link to transmit uncompressed images with low latency. The headset includes aspheric glass lenses, QLED panels, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chipset, supported by an external 16,000mAh power pack.
Alongside the headset, Pimax introduced the Spation mini-PC, designed for 4K living room gaming. The device features an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and options for either AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards. The Spation supports Windows 11 or Steam OS and aims to evolve the console-like gaming concept previously attempted by the Steam Machine.
