The book also contains unpublished images from the recording sessions and the subsequent tour.

Historically, the album represented a creative shift for the band, as Roger Waters emerged as a dominant leader using themes inspired by George Orwell to critique power. This period saw a change in group dynamics, with reduced contributions from Richard Wright and David Gilmour, which preceded further internal instability within the band.
