Pitt football 2026 fall camp

On August 5, 2026 the University of Pittsburgh Panthers opened their 2026 fall camp under head coach Pat Narduzzi. Early practices were described as “not football,” with upcoming jersey scrimmages set to determine the depth chart ahead of the season opener on Sept. 5. The roster was being reshaped after the departure of veteran linebacker Kyle Louis to the Miami Dolphins and the transfer of former leader Rasheem Biles to Texas, while transfers such as Malik Knight and incoming freshmen were evaluated for playing time.

Later the same day, Narduzzi addressed a developing off‑field issue: wide receiver Blue Hicks and defensive backs Tyreek Robinson and Zion Ferguson were charged with a total of 24 offenses stemming from a June 16 dirt‑bike chase with police in Oakland. While some charges against Robinson and Ferguson were dropped, Hicks still faces felony and misdemeanor counts. All three players remain on the practice roster while the legal process and any disciplinary actions proceed.
