Podgorica Airport parking security issues

Overview

Aerodrom Podgorica has increased technical and personnel resources to address illegal activities at its commercial parking lot. Aerodromi Crne Gore (ACG) reported that uncontracted taxi drivers and rent-a-car agencies have been damaging airport property, such as breaking ramps and removing bollards, to evade parking fees.

The situation escalated during the summer season, including an incident where a rent-a-car driver allegedly assaulted an airport employee. In response, a joint operation involving the Police Administration, Labor Inspection, Tax Administration, Road Traffic Inspection, and the Institute of Metrology resulted in 51 measures and fines exceeding 10,000 euros. To prevent further abuse, the airport has installed double exit ramps and is updating its parking payment and recording software.
