The Pokémon Company and regional partners have announced new competitive tournament structures and pathways leading toward the 2027 Pokémon World Championships.
In India, the ‘Pokémon Champions India Series 2027 Season’ has been established to provide a formal qualification route for the 2027 Pokémon VGC World Championships. This initiative follows India’s addition as a standalone region in the mobile-accessible Pokémon Champions game. The series will begin with Global Challenges in late 2026, eventually leading to an online qualifier in May 2027 and an in-person Grand Finals in June 2027.
In South Korea, the inaugural Pokémon Team Masters 2027 will debut in Seoul in January 2027. This new team-based tournament format will focus on the Trading Card Game (TCG) category, utilizing a 3v3 battle structure. The top four teams from this event will qualify for the TCG Division at the 2027 Pokémon World Championships.
