Late July 2026 saw a coordinated wave of new Pokémon Trading Card Game content across physical and digital platforms. Following the 22 July launch of the worldwide physical set “Pitch Black” (115 cards, featuring Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex), the mobile title Pokémon TCG Pocket released the “Ruler of the Skies” expansion. This digital release introduced Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Metagross ex, and Mega Gallade ex, alongside 2D QR-code deck-sharing and rarity-based opening conditions. The Japanese market received the 76-card physical expansion “Storm Emerald” on 24 July, adding Mega Rayquaza ex and Mega Golurk ex. The mobile side followed with the “Herrscher der Lüfte” expansion on 30 July, also featuring Mega Rayquaza ex and new trainer and energy cards. On that same day, “Ruler of the Skies” officially debuted its “secret missions” system, where players collect specific groups of cards—such as the “Legends of the Hoenn Region” mission—to earn magic hourglasses and store coupons. Expanding on this momentum, The Pokémon Company International announced the “Mega Evolution – Delta Reign” expansion, scheduled for a worldwide physical release on 6 November 2026 and digital access on 5 November. This set will feature marks the return of Mega-Rayquaza-ex Mega Rayquaza ex to the game for the first time since the XY—Ancient Origins expansion. The expansion will also feature Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex, and introduce Mega Golisopod ex. A key strategic addition is the introduction of “Legendary Stadium” cards, Stadiums,” a mechanic consisting of where two separate Stadium cards that are played together to form a single large illustration when played together. single, large-scale illustration; booster packs will contain both halves required to complete these cards. Prerelease tournaments are expected to begin on 24 October 2026.
