Various Pokémon-themed exhibitions are scheduled to take place across Japan in late 2026. In Toyohashi, the Toyohashi City Natural History Museum began hosting the “Pokémon Observatory” exhibition on September 21, which runs until December 6. Co-organized with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) and supported by JAXA, the event uses Pokémon to promote interest in space and natural ~~sciences.~~ sciences, connecting the ecology of Pokémon with mysteries of the moon, galaxies, and the solar system. This traveling science event follows an initial run at the Sagamihara City Museum and is scheduled to visit the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture in late December 2026. In Tokyo, the Japan Olympic Museum is hosting the “Pokemon and Athletes’ Moves Exhibition” from September 19 to November 23. This initiative by the Japan Olympic Committee and The Pokémon Company pairs 59 selected Pokémon with specific sporting disciplines to teach children about sports. The exhibition includes interactive sections for mimicking athletic poses and participating in physical simulations, alongside a Pikachu-themed quiz rally.
