Poland has initiated several digital and technological developments involving infrastructure, industry support, and legislative regulation. In late August 2026, the Ministry of Digital Affairs introduced new tools to support the technology sector and broadband connectivity. This included the SIDUSIS information system, allowing residents to verify broadband availability and report connectivity gaps, and the ICT.gov.pl platform. While the OPZZ trade union criticized the draft for not addressing specific Polish market structures, such as the reliance on fleet partners, officials also moved toward stricter social media controls. During the ‘Safer Internet’ conference, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized the need for platform accountability regarding the well-being of minors, discussing potential age restrictions, penalties for sexual deepfakes, and the enforcement of the EU’s Digital Services Act against Very Large Online Platforms. Additionally, Act.
