Poland national crisis response training initiative and evacuation planning

The Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration, through the Academy of Population Protection and Civil Defense (OLiOC), conducted a nationwide National Response Training program on August 29 and 30, 2026. The curriculum focused on a three-step safety protocol: recognizing alarm signals, verifying information via official channels like Alert RCB and the Regional Warning System (RSO), and taking appropriate actions such as seeking shelter. Practical demonstrations included instructions on preparing emergency evacuation backpacks tailored to family needs. In the Silesian Voivodeship, approximately 100 meetings were held on August 29. Drafted by the Government Security Centre (RCB) in cooperation with the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, the plan aims to ensure civilian evacuation routes do not conflict with military equipment or emergency services. The plan will integrate regional procedures and define routes via road, rail, water, and limited air travel. This initiative follows a February 2026 memorandum signed in Stockholm between Poland and nine other nations regarding the temporary movement of civilians across borders during serious crises.
