Current RTV fee regulations remain in effect in Poland as legislative work continues for the 2027 reform. Under existing rules, owners must register new devices within 14 days. For 2026, monthly rates are 30.50 PLN for television or combined use and 9.50 PLN for radio. While a single household fee covers all devices within a home, including car radios, businesses and institutions must pay for each individual device used in offices or service vehicles. Failure to register devices can result in significant penalties. Authorized Poczta Polska employees conduct inspections, and unregistered users face fines equivalent to 30 times the monthly rate, amounting to 915 PLN for television/radio combinations or 285 PLN for radio-only use in 2026. Unpaid debts may eventually be transferred to the tax office for enforcement proceedings. While the Ministry of Culture previously suggested replacing this system with an automatic audiovisual fee via annual tax returns (PIT) on 1 January 2027, this provision was excluded from the 2027 budget draft. The Ministry of Finance stated that a proposed annual subsidy of 2.5 billion PLN would be “unsustainable for the state budget.” As a result, the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has approved rate hikes for 2027. Fees are set to 2027 following annual inflation-based indexation. Effective January 1, 2027, monthly fees will rise to 34.50 PLN for television or combined use and 10.80 PLN for radio. Penalties for unregistered receivers will also increase to 1,035 PLN for televisions and 324 PLN for radios. New details regarding the 2027 transition include payment deadlines and discount structures. Subscribers must pay by the 25th of each month, though annual advance payments can reduce the yearly cost from 414 PLN to 372.60 PLN. Exemptions remain for the unemployed, individuals with significant disabilities, and certain social benefit recipients.
