Poland’s nationwide infrastructure programme continued through late July and early August. After heavy rain forced a brief postponement, the main works on the S7 highway near Gdańsk started on 30 July, following temporary traffic arrangements set for 29 July. County roads 2936P (Graby) and 2160P (Kąpiel) in the Gniezno area were rebuilt with joint Powiat‑Gmina funding. In Gniezno a new pedestrian‑bicycle path along Gdańska Street is slated to begin soon, estimated at about 320 thousand zł. Near Warsaw’s Chopin Airport, the Żwirki and Wigury streets are being modernised; work began on 29 July with lane reductions and a tunnel closure scheduled for 4–6 August. Warsaw’s Siekierka Bridge has been reduced to a single lane, with full completion expected by the end of August. In Bydgoszcz, the Las Gdański tram loop is being modernised with EU climate funds, targeting completion before year‑end. Near Łódź, the 2‑km pedestrian‑bicycle path alongside road 704 and the A2 motorway nears completion, is in its final finishing stage, funded at a cost of 4.7 million zł. New water‑related projects were launched: a Pleszew’s UV‑disinfection pumping water‑pumping station in Pleszew began operating, cutting energy use by up to 30 %. Sulejów secured a 5.75 million zł loan for water and sewer network upgrades, with repayment slated for 2027‑29 is nearing final testing and up to half potentially written off. Tarnów introduced a free electric bus line on 3 August, a 5‑km route with 14 stops that will remain fare‑free through August soon serve the town and September. surrounding villages.
