Poland social housing initiatives
Entities: Polish Senate · Polish government · SIM KZN Reymontowski · Gmina Piątek · National Bank of Poland
Overview
In late July 2026 Polish municipalities continued to expand affordable, energy‑efficient housing under regional Social Housing Initiatives.
On 23 July the Gmina Słupca handed over a completed three‑storey building in Cienin Kościelny containing 11 apartments. The units, ranging from 38 m² to 49 m², are offered on 15‑year renewable lease contracts with rent set below market rates and optional subsidies. Features such as individual heat‑pump systems and mechanical‑ventilation with heat recovery keep monthly heating and hot‑water costs low.
Later that day, officials in Gmina Piątek held a cornerstone ceremony for a new 16‑unit multi‑family building. Like the Słupca project, the development will be provided under the Social Housing Initiative, offering preferential rent and a pathway to full ownership for working families whose incomes fall between municipal housing eligibility and conventional mortgage affordability.
These actions illustrate the ongoing rollout of subsidised, low‑cost housing aimed at bridging the gap between public and market rentals across the region.
