Polish artist burials at Powązki Cemetery

Overview

The burial sites of prominent Polish cultural figures at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw have been noted.

Following the death of musician Stanisław Soyka in August 2025, a permanent monument made of dark, polished stone was completed. The headstone features his signature and the inscription: ‘Tu leży sługa poetów’ (Here lies a servant of poets).

In a separate instance, the grave of actress and singer Stanisława Celińska, who died in May 2026, has drawn public attention. While the site has been decorated with flowers and mementos, it has not yet received a permanent stone monument.
