Throughout the summer of 2026, Poland held extensive celebrations for marriage milestones, institutional anniversaries, and community achievements. Marriage commemorations remained a central theme. In early June, towns like Klimontów, Krzyżanów, and Świnoujście awarded presidential medals to golden-wedding couples. Musicians Edyta and Łukasz Golec marked their own milestone with a new duet, while Bełchatów, Gliwice, and Jadów hosted ceremonies for gold and diamond anniversaries. In Świdnik, Mayor Marcin Dmowski noted that a fifty-year marriage “is an undeniable achievement deserving special celebration.” By late August, the trend continued in Somonino, where Mayor Marian Kryszewski honored 19 couples, including those celebrating 65 years. In Świnoujście, Mayor Joanna Agatowska presented medals to four couples celebrating their 50th anniversary. In Raczkowo, Klara and Czesław Patelski were honored for their 60th anniversary, while 12 couples in Kazimierz Dolny received the ‘Medal for Long-term Marriage’. The festivities in Świdnica featured musical performances by the Ale Babki singing group and vocalists from the Academy of Talent Development. On September 10, the Władysławów municipality held a ceremony at the Dębowa restaurant to honor ten couples celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Mayor Elżbieta Klanowska and municipal council members presented the jubilarians with medals, diplomas, and flowers. The Long-Term Marriage Medal programme, which reached an estimated 160,000 couples, also became a subject of political debate regarding administrative backlogs in President Karol Nawrocki’s office. ~~Institutional and community milestones were also widely recognized, including centennials for schools in Nowy Sącz, Siemiatycze, Olkusz, and Mieroszów.~~
